| Report: | So, as the 2025/26 season hobbles and limps to a close, with the title no longer in contention and nothing else to play for it is worth noting the number of W/O's, in fact the skippers win ratio against Mr Walk Over is 100%, which I think you can agree is pretty impressive!! Anyway, to the match. Having sealed victory in the "Chilli Challenge" with two outstanding culinary offerings, and writing a new recipe for Good Food Magazine, as well as the opening of his own eponymous restaurant in London, AND with a new range of "cook your own" meals to rival Charlie Bigham the Captain decided to take a well earned break.. With Berko only bringing 4 players cooking was left to young Will J who offered up a spag bol sufficient in quantity to feed the 5000, which we hear was edible. So, to the squash. It isn't often a match features the current National O40 AND O50 Champions so congratulations to Lee Jemmett and Ali Coker. The matches contained the usual mixed bag of quality, mediocrity, highs, lows, close shaves, near misses and a myriad of 'what if's'. Up and coming Star Kylan, who is already beating most of his team mates, was quick off the mark with a comprehensive 3-0, as was Paul who gave his opponent little chance and made short work of the game. Will J meanwhile was being given a lesson in ball placement and found out once again that a squash court can be a really, really big place! Match of the night saw Lee play a talented lefty who scampered and scurried, scuttled and screeched, skidded and slid his way around the court and returned virtually every shot, v impressive! So, until next year, thanks for coming and That's All Folks!!! |
