| Report: | Another week, another step forward…
Dylan was first on and immediately entered into a rallying competition with Joe. The rallies were so long that spectators started wondering if they’d accidentally bought tickets for a Test match. By the time they reached game five, everyone else had practically finished. After a tremendous battle that made everyone watching tired, Dylan finally took the win 🥵
Over on the other court, Nick and Julian were operating under a completely different set of rules. Long rallies? Absolutely not. Julian playing some sublime drop winners or the occasional coaches feed, Nick going for everything possible. Nick secured a 3–1 win in just 2 games of Dylan & Joe.
Chris then stepped on court and clearly following Nick's approach rather than Dylan's, didn't hold back. A clincal game using his experience to dispatch his younger opponent 3–0, presumably keen to get home before Dylan's match finished.
Louis took on the experienced Ali and survived a tight opening game before letting his youthful legs take over. 3–0 to Louis.
Rory was on the other end playing a youthful quick Mati. Slightly colder than it has been and Mati unable to miss a single drop whilst Rory kept flirting with the top of the tin, tight all the way through both going on runs, Mati taking the final spoils 3-1.
A good tie with some great matches, Stortford prevailing keeping up their confidence. |
