| Report: | 3-0 every way is not what you would call a classic team match. The only classic part was the chilli. And that's not saying it was fantastic, but as expected for that classic Mexican dish.
First on was Cousins who finally pulled it out the bag. Maybe his new football socks was just what he needed to smash his opponent quickly off court, or the fact he was playing at 4 to boost his ego. Either way an emphatic way to let them know why he left their club to play for Stortford.
I’m not going to wind Lee up but angry kid nearly came out against an opponent that can only be described as a young kid on speed. The athleticism of his opponent 26 years his junior was the different between the win. A night to forget for the next masters champ..
Will the all inclusive Timmy taylor looked like he was still enjoying looking at the bar cocktail list rather than a double dot ball on freshly painted courts. The less I say about this performance the better. Think it finished before my pint did.
Kylans opponent certainly didn't appreciate the talent tjat the 14 year old has. Although I hear this is the third time he has lost to under 15's so maybe he just isn't that good. Kylan made quick work of it and certainly enjoyed making it an easy 3-0 to set the match to go to the string 2's to decide the grudge match against our closest opponents.
Kudus for Paul by coming in last minute against a 20 year old whippet who looked like there was more meat on a tomahawk steak. In fact it looked like more sweat was coming off Paul than the steak on a bbq on a hot summer day. A little bit of a lamb to the slaughter but I heard he enjoyed the blood bath of the beating on court.
Now although we hold the tail between our legs for the first L of the season we still have the chilli to talk about. Some would say the Japanese flag is going to come. Some say he needs help cooking the rice, either way the classic chilli from Will was well balanced had all the extras and some of the opposition even saying "it's nice". A solid 7 out of 10 and comfortably beating that of El Captain who maybe lost roaming Japan soaked in Sake. |
